The Last Bean Cake

 THE LAST BEAN CAKE

(A battle for the mind)

Last week, I was heading home around 9:00 pm. It was already late so I had no intention of cooking that night. Besides, I was tired.

I'm not a married man so I had nobody to call and ask at home if dinner was still hot.

I had no other choice than to settle for àkàrà (bean cake) and bread. That was the only thing I could get in my street at that late hour.

For a moment, I thought about small businesses that are into food delivery services and I wished I could get one in my location at that moment... I was damn hungry 😩

Fast forward to my arrival at home, I unpacked the beans cake and ate everything until the last one...

I intentionally left the last one inside the package because I wanted to have the taste of the cake one more time before I finally go to bed.

Have you also felt like doing that before? You don't want to finish the food at a single round because of the enjoyment and the route it takes to merry your heart... Yes! That was exactly how I felt that night.

However, I had two more important activities on my To-Do List. So I got my laptop and launched into doing them, but for some reasons, my mind became divided into two.

I could feel one side thinking about the last bean cake and the other thinking about the tasks.

I wish I wouldn't lose focus on what I was doing but my mind kept bringing up the last bean cake inside the package... It was a battle.

I ended up spending more time on the tasks because my mind was at war all through the period.

Finally, I was done with the tasks and went for the beans cake. Unfortunately for me, it was an empty package I found!

(That thing can pain someone ehn)

The beans cake I thought was there was gone!

Could it be that a rat has hunted for my cake? Noo! There isn't a single rat in my room.

I was lost in my thoughts. The more I think about it, the more I kept panting for the cake like a deer panting for water.

I did the calculation of my consumption and found out that I had eaten all the cakes. It was just a mere thought that I had one more. So sad but funny☹️😂.

You can't imagine the way I went to bed that night... I had to pray so they won't bring àkàrà for me in my dreams.

Gentlemen and friends, the mind is the fertile field that God has ordained for productivity to take place.

If you need the ground of your mind to bring forth good fruits for you, you must avoid war on such ground; you must avoid it at all cost!

What is dividing your own mind might not be a bean cake...

It could be how to get financial support for your business, it could be how to read and pass your exams as a hustling man...

It could be how to put food on the table and put a smile on the face of your siblings.

Why not control your mind to focus on one end now so that you won't lose on two ends.

Thinking about the situation will not strengthen you, it will only divide your mind and weaken your level of focus.

If the situation is too heavy to avoid, that makes it a burden. Cast your burden to the Lord and share it with people who will encourage your mind to focus.

My story is factional. It means some part of it is real while some are not entirely a clip of reality (fiction).

Till I come your way next time, stay positive and keep inspiring your every day.
