(The concept of value placement)
Yes! Just like you have imagined from the title, we are throwing back to our dear mathematics memory from elementary school, amazing isn't it? Yes it is! Do you remember coming across questions like... "Find the place value of 2 in the following figures 582614....." The answer is 2 thousand right? Yes it is!
Have you ever thought about the reason behind placing value on those figures? Those figures usually try their best to stand together and lean on each other's shoulders, those figures most times portray the rudiments of team work in ways more than we claim to understand as humans, yet we would always find a way of separating them based on the values they communicate. I feel like I'm anxious to chew the whole concept in a bite, so let's take it steadily...
As passionate youth, we must understand that the environment places value on us in the exact method we all had placed value on those figures during elementary school days in units, in tens, in hundreds, in thousands and so on. The environment does this because the environment has ONLY learnt to relate with us based on the values we are made of. This is true!
If you have been going through some of my previous articles, I believe you would have understood how to convert your efforts into building values and how to convert those built values to achievable successes. These values are important because they are the best assets you could use to make investments in any team you might find yourself.
Dear visionary, no matter how much you are involved in a team work, please ensure you are conscious of the values that your environment is placing on you, this will help you know WHERE you stand in your team, WHAT must be done to get fantastic placement and HOW to take those precautionary measures systematically.
It is also worthy of note that you can't measure how valuable you are using the rate at which your environment makes use of you; don't be deceived! I've seen people who have run their entire life based on this factor in the course of their humanitarian service but later became disappointed when they found out that they were not valued and positively identified like some other colleagues; what a pity!
They usually assume it is the fault of their community, not knowing that they have most of the faults, and their faults has been that they thought they would be valued base on the rate at which they are being used, not knowing that the environment usually considers the impact of their works while placing value on them; the environment looks into their qualities and not their quantities.
To answer the question of HOW? You must always watch out for the results your team produces if your impact or contribution is part of it.
